OVER 300 HORSES ARE STABLED AT LEXINGTON LEXINGTON, Ky., July 22. According to the records of superintendent John M. Keegan there are today at the Kentucky Jockey Clubs Lexington track 333 horses in training and they are being handled by thirty-one trainers. The largest string is that of J. N. Camden and J. C. Milam, principally yearlings, in charge of Al Johnson, they numbering forty-five. The next largest is that of Major Thomas C. McDowell. He has forty-one, of which fifteen are yearlings. Jack Baker has twenty-six and Jack Mc-Pherson the same number. Allan Callaher has twenty-four, of which ten are yearlings. Clyde Van Dusen is training twenty, Robert C. Frakes eighteen, John M. Goode and Will Perkins man fourteen each. John I. Smiths foreman is here with twelve, of which ten are yearlings. Dan E. Stewart has twelve, Charles Dodson nine, James H. Baker eight, Garrett Watts eight, OMeara Bros., W. T. Woodward, T. P. Hayes, 7 each; W. H. Webb, John O. Whitlow, W. L. Lewis, J. J. Ashe, six each ; Si Baxter five ; James Hukill, Tommy Devereaux four each ; O. A. Bianchi, A. B. Lowe, Jno. Randolph, Sid Berry three each; Jno. H. Nichols, J. Franklin Wallace, A. J. Stafford and Grover Hughes two each. There is not a sick horse on the grounds and all are going good in their training. The work of breaking yearlings is just beginning, but good progress is reported. The yearlings will be taken away from the course at the end of another six weeks in order to make room for horses that will come to participate in the fall racing. A number of the horses now in training here will be raced at the Rlue Grass Fair, which will be held in the fourth week of August, opening on the twenty-first.
