RECOMMENDATION showed the most speed In the early running, but could not withstand the winners challenge. ROSEATE II. saved ground when entering the stretch and finished gamely. MARTON finished with a belated rush. BEGUM began ilatfootcd and closed a big gap in the first half, tut was forced very wide on the stretch tnrn and her rider pulled her up. KAMK1N, running in improTed form, raced from the start prominently end came fast through the stretch, but swerved over before ARAPAHOE, forcing him to pull up, for which he was disqualified. ARAPAHOE raced into the lead on the backstretch, but tired when challenged and was beaten when the interference occurred. MATINEE IDOL was almost left at the poet, but followed the others under restraint until entering the stretch, where he closed up rapidly, but could not overbanl the two leaders. WYLIE finished resolutely. CAUALAN had no mishaps. MARTIN A. NOONAN and SHAFFER quit badly. SUNNYLAND displayed excellent speed In racing into the lead on the backstretch and, finiuhing gamely, but tiring, outstayed TEDDY R. MOONRAKER shied at the start and began slowly, then raced into a contending position in the first eighth, but could never quite overtake the leaders. MUTINY raced well for a half mile. BRIGHT LIGHTS was shuffled back on the backstretch, but clcstd a big gap and was running fastest of ell in the stretch. LIBERTY GIRL could never secure a clear course.
