MUSKALLONGE rushed into the lead at once and. making the pace fast under slight restraint until in the stretch, drew away rapidly when called on and won casing up. GLADIATOR raced in closest pursuit and moved up rapidly on the stretch turn, but tired after gottin.i to the leader. VALOR steadily improved his position on the outside into third place, bnt could not improve his position afterward. KIRKLEVINGTON was pulled up at the start, but finished with a rush through the stretch. LACKAWANNA, high in flesh, showed early speed. IRA WILSON quit after going well for a half mile. MINATA, under restraint in the eaiIy running, fenced faultlessly and. responding well when called on for a tinal effort, raced into the lead in the last eighth and won going away. FAUNUS. a game contender throughout, lost ground at the jumps and by racing wide, but took the le.-.d in the last half mile and was under restraint to the last fence, where he almost fell, which cost him the race. IiALLAVILL closed up menacingly at the fifteenth fence, but tired Anally. BELLE OF BRYN ilAWR displayed excellent speed in the early running and jumped excellently, but tired badly in the last quarter. LYTLE was nlways beaten. ROI CRAIG showed scant speed and retired after going three-quarters. GRENADIER ran well for a mile, but lost his rider at the twelfth jump. Scratched G3177IJoyful. 134. DUST FLOWER, away forwardly. was in tight quarters early, but slipped through next lo the rail when entering the stretch and, under energetic riding, passed SUN MIST and, finishing fast, outstayed CARTOONIST. The latter moved up with a rush ou the stretch turn, but was forced wide, then came fast through the final eighth and was slowly wearing the winner down In the final strides. MESSENGER, a good looker, raced a trifle green, but finished resolutely through the final quarter and was a fast-going third. HELL GATE, off slowly, closed an immense gap while racing on the extreme outside. SHAMROCK also closed n gap, but tired. ROYS RELIEVE ME rau well and was in close quarters in the last eighth. SPOT CASH began slowly. ALADDIN tired in the stretch drive. BIJTTER LUCK could never secure a clear course. SDN MIST set a fast pace, but quit badly in the stretch. MOONRAICER was shullied hack in the first eighth. GREY LAG was saved under restraint for Uic first three-quarter-?, then gradually improved his position and passed the leader when well into the stretch, but was under hard riding at the end to maintain his advantage. RON UOMME, in a forward position from the start, rushed into the lead while rounding the last turn and finished resolutely when challenged. PRUDERY fret a fast early pace while under restraint and was forced back on the stretch turn, but came again and nmde n fast finish. DEVASTATION tired after going seven-eighths. REliUKH, off slowly, closed a big gap in the early running, but tired also. ADONIS showed much speed for three-quarters. TUFTER was never prominent. BELLSOLAR ran poorly.
