MABEL II. began slowly and dashed to the front with a rush, but came wide into the stretch and tired when challenged. ZEUEEKA finished with a rush. PAUL G. BROWN began in a tangle. AUNTIE EM tired. AMMUNITION was saved under restraint for the first turn of the field and. saving ground where possible, drew away after taking the lead, but was tiring badly at the end. ST. PAUL was outrun for the first inil. but closed up resolutely when called on and finished wearing the winner down. FAIR MAC raced JIM PETRIE into defeat, but tired badly in the final drive. HIDDEN JEWEL showed high speed in pacemakiug and, racing CLANSMAN into defeat in the early running, finished easing up. CLANSMAN raced next to the inner rail in the slowest going and stumbled a couple of times, but came fast at the end. SERVITOR made up ground and raced into third place in the final eighth. BETSINDA, close up from the start, was forced to the extreme outside on the stretch turn, but closed up with a rush in the stretch and, taking the lead, won in a canter. MAX GOLD was shuffled back after the start, but also came with a rush iu the stretch and got np for second place in the final strides. CRESTWOOD BOY forced a fast early pace and saved ground, but tired near the end. PHANTOM FAIR set a good pace, but came wide on the stretch turn. MABEL CURTIS was knocked back and had no chance. DELUSIVE was taken up soon after the start and raced in the deepest going, but finished resolutely and wearing the winner down. The latter sprinted into a long lead and kept it to the stretch, but was tiring through the final sixteenth. PASTORAL SWAIN closed a gap and made a fast finish. TRICKSTER II. was sore when going to the post.
