HORSEMEN TO HELP IN CHICAGO REVIVAL The Illinois Jockey Club has been assured by a number of prominent turfmen that they will send some of their horses to Hawthorne to participate in the meeting scheduled to begin on September 30 and continue for twelve days, ending October 13. One of these is E. R. Bradley, who has wired from Saratoga saying he would be pleased to come to Chicago and bring some of his horses. Some time ago Marshall Field III., who was this week elected to membership of the Jockey Club, was asked if the American Derby were revived would his racers take part. "I would not only enter my stable and display my colors, but I would promise to bring my entire stable now racing in England to America and naturally Chicago would get the preference," said he. Charles Head Smith of Lieut. Gibson fame, too, was pleased at the prospect of getting back into the sport.
