FLAGSTAFF raced green and began slowly, but. under hard riding, steadily improved his position and raced into a good lead in tlie stretch, but was ridden out at the finish. PIITSTON set a fast pace to the stretch and tired, but finished namely. CHKAPSIDB had a rough race in the early running, PETTIFOGGER. The latter, under restraint nearly all the way. but closed a Bap gamely and outlini lied finished fastest of all. BETTER TIM US was hard ridden throughout and had no mishaps. NOEL showed speed and saved ground on the turns, but tired in the final eighth. CASH showed speed for a quarter. CHEAT LA D Y was practically left at the post. EXODUS raced in close pursuit of the leaders throughout and moved up gamely in the stretch, but was tiring under his weight at the end. HIGH CLOUD, off slowly, gained rapidly in the first half mile while on the extreme outside, but tired near the finish. GOOD TIMKS raced well to the final eighth and was not persevered with when beaten. DIMMESDALB was always outpaced. Won driving; second and third the same COSTIGAN running in vastly improved form, overcame repeated interference in the early running and was forced back on the stretch turn, but came fast through the stretch and got up to win in the last stride. MODO, well ridden, raced under hard pres ure all the way and took the lead in the stretch, but could not withstand the winners challenge. TANGERINE closed a big gap anil made a fast finish, j NOSE DIVE raced into the lead, but tired badly in the final eighth. WIDGEON set a fast pace, but retired after going three-quarters in the lead. GAIANTMAN displayed excellent speed under his impost and, setting a fast pace, held on resolutely for second place. CURTIS, displaying excellent vpeed, took the lead in the first eighth and. saving ground on the ! turn, retained his advantage tenaciously under a vigorous hand ride through the final eighth. CAPE CLEAR, off forwardiy, was forced hack on the turn out of the backstretcii and closed up gamely when clear, but could not overhaul the leader. POW WOW made a game rush after entering the stretch, but met with interference at the eighth post. PRINCE TII Til finished resolutely. STONY POINT showed speed for a half mile. EL DORADO and IIUMl.OLDT ran poorly and had no mishaps.
