THE CURRAGH TO BE SOLD SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. T., August 18. The Sanford Stud Farm has consigned to the Fasig-Tipton Company, to be sold on the night of Tuesday, August 22, the stallion The Curragh. The Curragh started three times in two years and -was second in tha Bedfont Plate at Kempton Park. As a three-year-old he won the Dee Stakes at Chester and ran fourth in the Whitsuntide Plate at Hurst Paris. He was also a starter in tha St. Leger. At four years he won the Kemp-ton Park Great Jubilee Handicap, beating nineteen others, among them Maiden Erlegh, Junia and Braxted. He also won the Princess of Wales Stakes at Newmarket and Babraham Stakes at Newmarket. The Curragh is sire of the winners Irish Dream, Brynhild, Cavendish, Killala, Waac, Athgarven, Sleiveconard, Barriskane, Castle-reagh, Cloncannon, Cloughjordan, The Ulster, etc. The Curragh is by Spearmint Curra-jong, by St. Frusquin, and traces back to Alice Hawthorn, one of the great family founders.
