BIG RACE MAY NOT BE RUN Doubt Cast Over the Meeting of the Crack Three-Year-Olds at Saratoga. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., August 25. Although the entries have been sent out for the Saratoga Special three-year-old race tomorrow, there is grave doubt of the race being run. . In the first place, the conditions require that the track be "good," and it now seems impossible to have such a track for the race. Today the track was anything but good and, in fact, in such a condition that no amount of sunshine could put it in a condition to meet the requirements of the proposed contest. It is unfortunate that the weather interfered with what promised to be one of the races of the year, but it will be surprising if the race is run, even though the names of Bunting, Kai-Sang and Pillorv have been sent out overnight. Already it has been intimated that sucli a race may be offered for the same colts at Belmont Park. That was talked over when it was found that weather conditions might not permit of the race being conducted at this meeting. One thing is certain, that whether or not it is run tomorrow, there will be a chance for the best thrce-year-olc1 to come together under equal weights before the end of September.
