OLD ENGLISH STALLION SOLD LONDON, England, August 20. The well-known English stallion Phaleron was sold at Tattersalls for the small sum of 50. The fact that he is now sixteen years old doubtless accounts for the modest price realized. He is by Gallinule Mrs. Butterwick, by St. Simon. He was a good race horse in his day and won stakes to the value of over 0,000, as well as siring over fifty winners in 1920. Theodosius, another horse known to English racegoers as more than useful over hurdles and on the flat also, went under the hammer for 50.
