LUCKY HOURS FAST GALLOP Displays Fine Speed in Preparation for Thanksgiving Day Handicap. BOWIE, Md., November 22. Lucky Hour, winner of the Southern Maryland Handicap for the Lexington Stable the opening day of the Bowie meeting, was worked a mile in 1 :44 before the first race and it was one of the most impressive moves shown at this track. It was a part of his preparation for the Thanksgiving Handicap, to be run the last day of the meeting. Andy Schuttinger was in the saddle and the fractions were: 12, 24, 38, 50, 1:02, 1:16, l:30ys and 1 :44ys. Schuttinger had a good hold of the colts head and the smooth, even pace of the move was decidedly impressive. The only horse to show a better mile in work here has been Blazes, the J. S. Cosden six-year-old that galloped a mile in 1 :44 as a part of his local racing preparation.
