CALADIUM took the lead at once and drew away steadily in the early running to win as his rider pleased. RECHAIUTE, off fordwardly, raced in close up pursuit and made a game finish. GOLD MOUNT moved up rapidly in the stretch, but was unable to overhaul the two leaders. SPINNING FLAX closed a gap and tired in tlic stretch. WRANGLER and ZEUS LASSIE finished fast BLUE CHINA dwelt at the start and closed a big gap. Won driving; second and third the same. SO IT GOES worked his way up steadily in the early running and, finishing fast through the final eighth, wore TIDINGS down to win in the final stride. TIDINGS was a forward contender from the start and took the lead after entering the stretch, but tired in the final sixteenth. CARB FREE began slowly, but closed a great gap steadily and finished fastest of alL JOHN MORRILL raced in a contending position throughout and finished gamely, but tired slightly in the final strides. TINGLING closed an immense gap. SKOOTER also closed up ground from a slow beginning. TUBBA A. set the early pace, but quit in the final eighth. PERIGOURDINE had no chance after the tart. GENERAL THATCHER was in close quarters at the start and was forced back, then followed the leaders under restraint until well within the final eighth, when he closed up with a rush and out-finished FOREST LORE in the final drive. FOREST LORE raced forwardly throughout and, finishing fast and gamely, ran an excellent race. KING SOLOMONS SEAL raced in nearest pursuit of CAROL to the last eighth and tired. CAROL rushed into the lead and set a fast early pace, but tired after going five-eighths in the lead. OUI OUI had a rough race and was shuffled back while endeavoring to slip through next to the rail at the eighth post. LUMINIST ran a bad race. KING ALBERT began somewhat slowly and was taken to the inner rail while going to the first turn, then secured a clear course and, saving mucli ground on the turns, raced into the lead on the backstrctch and, drawing away, won in a canter. DREAM 01 ALLAH ran a good race and was ridden extremely wide on all the turns and lost considerable ground, but held CLANSMAN safe. CLANSMAN set the early pace, displayed excellent speed throughout and finished gamely. PASTORAL SWAIN was hard ridden for the entire race. MODO had no mishaps. SAILING ALONG was outrun all the way. DUNCECAP refused to start. IlPPITYT WITCUET, off forwardly, was taken under restraint and saved in the early running : and, moving up steadily after going the first half mile, came fast through the stretch on the inside and, wearing BLAZES down, was drawing clear in the final strides. BLAZES rushed into the lead and, I racing SLIPPEU1 ELM into defeat in the first five -eighths, increased his lead after entering the stretch, but tired when called on for a final effort. TOTTER gradually improved his position and finished fast and gamely. SLIPPERY ELM showed much early speed, but tired after entering the stretch. POLLY ANN finished gamely and had no mishaps. SADDLE AND BOOTS was in close quarters all the way and, with a stronger rider, would have been dangerous. DUKE JOHN had a clear course all the way, but could not improve his position. SERVITOR had no chance from the start. BRIDESMAN was poorly ridden. DESPAIR showed speed.
