BELPHRIZONIA raced in closest pursuit of the leader to the stretch and, taking the lead at the eighth post, drew away and was easing up at the finish. MABEL K. showed the most early speed and, making the pace fast, finished gamely after being passed, and outgamed GOLD MOUNT. The Litter , gradually improved his position and finished fast. DUCKS AND DRAKES began well, but was badly outrun for the first half mile, then finished with a rush on the extreme outside. LITTLE HOPE was a forward contender under a bad ride and saved ground when entering the stretch, but was crowded to the inner rail and shuffled back. YIRGINIUS began slowly and closed a big gap. GEN-I ERAL THATCHER followed the leaders under slight restraint to the stretch and responded gamely when called on, but was unable to overhaul the winner. VIGIL, well ridden and racing in the best going all the way, finished gamely and was slowly gaining in the final strides. MOONRAKER ran a good three-quarters. The latter rushed into the lead and, setting a fast early pace, held on with unflinching gamcness in the final drive. TIPPITY WITCHET closed a big gap and, coming through the stretch with a great rush, outstayed PADDLE in the final strides. PADDLE raced in the best going throughout and finished gamely.
