MARGARET WARE slipped through next to the rail when entering the homestretch and raced into the lead, but had to be ridden out at the end to outstay ILLUSIONIST. The latter raced BOB PRATER into defeat in the first half and made a game finish. GONWITHIM had to be repeatedly taken up in the early running, when he was cut off, and finished with a rush. WINDS OF CHANCE set a good pace, but tired badly in the last quarter. LUI-MEME ran well, but had to be ridden hard to outstay HUMPY. The latter closed a big gap and finished fast.
