DECISION FAVORS FRANCE A decision in a racing case of eight years standing has recently been made by the German Racing Society At Baden Baden in 1915 a French horse got a steeplechase from a German horse on protest The owner of the latter appealed on the score that the course was not marked out with sufficient clear ¬ ness Before the decision could be given Germany had something else to think about in the way of a war but the racing society has now decided in favor of the horse that finished first and was disqualified It also awarded the owner of the German horse 4 per cent interest on the prize which was 10000 marks At the present value of the mark the prize will scarcely be worth col ¬ lecting
