NO SPECIAL FEATURE Havanas Saturday Program Se ¬ ries of Claming Races Haran and War Idol in Tight Fin ¬ ish Wretched Ride Respon ¬ sible for Redmons Defeat HAVANA Cuba February 10 Todays program at Oriental Park was made up of a series of claiming races the conditions of which were framed to suit a poorer class of horses The fields were well matched and the majority of finishes found the winners under hard drives drivesGet Get Em proved the best in the first race Get Em was ridden by Milner and followed Jennie C to the stretch turn where he moved up catching the pacemaker which was tiring and outgamed her in the final drive At the end Get Em had a lengths advantage advantageHaran Haran made all the pace in the second race Pickens was forced to put up a rous ¬ ing finish to get him to last long enough to stall off War Idols rush at the end Haran beat the latter by a neck while Watereo was third a half length back and a head in front of Hullo and Armedee ArmedeeThe The favorite Redmon in the third race was the victim of a wretched ride and probably would have won in an easy fashion under more competent handling Redmon was backed from 3 to 5 to 1 to 2 and flattered her backers by dashing into a long lead after passing the halfmile post The race looked all over but the shouting However at the top of the stretch Redmon began tir ¬ ing and Runnan which was closing steadily got up winning by a length and a half halfWinnipeg Winnipeg made a runaway of the fourth but at the end was tiring and had to be hard ridden to beat Wild Cat by a length lengthChile Chile was third followed by Rockabye and Polite The latter was another victim of a poor ride Burns messed him about going to the first turn and was a distant follower in the backstretch where he made his move while rounding the far turn He was blocked and pulled up upAbe Abe Sablotasky made all the pace in the fifth and won in a canter McLaughlin had a restraining hold on his mount for three quarters and when he let him down Abe Sab ¬ lotasky drew away into a six lengths lead Harry Glover was second a half length in front of the favorite Bloomington while Puzzler was another neck away awaySEVEN SEVEN RACES DAILY DAILYThe The condition books for next weeks racing was issued to horsemen today and according to the publication seven races will be carded daily dailyRoger Roger Sullivan the popular bookkeeper at the trades of the Kentucky Jockey Club is due to reach Havana with his wife next Tuesday for a brief visit He was employed as parimutuel calculator at Oriental Park up to four years ago agoThomas Thomas Monahan has decided to enter the unbeaten threeyearold filly Marionette in both the Kentucky Derby and the Kentucky Oaks The filly will probably be taken to Churchill Downs by her trainer Frank Bray at the conclusion of the Cuban meeting Mr Bray who is now in New Jersey is due to return to Havana next Tuesday TuesdayAmong Among the afternoons visitors were Fred erick A Smith of Rochester Simon Miller of New York Fred S White of Chicago W G Deemer of Kokomo Ind Dr Walter W Palmer of New York Mr and Mrs J Henry Smith of Baltimore Mr and Mrs John E Sheridan of St Louis Mo Mr and Mrs Frank Salt Col James T Lowe and Mrs W Coe of Niagara Falls N Y YMarty Marty McCue Tom Beattie Charles Rosen cranz and Col E Singleton comprised a party which visited the track today They are all from Long Beach N J JThomas Thomas J Ahearn vicepresident of the Connaught Jockey Club and Dr S S David ¬ son two prominent citizens of Ottawa OnL are here to enjoy a few days of racing
