GRAND ARRAY OF ENTRIES Two Hundred and Twenty Stake Nominations at Lexington Many Derby Candidates Among Eligifolcs to toIJIue IJIue Grass Stakes Fine Band of ofFillies Fillies in Ashland Oaks LEXINGTON Ky March 10 The four stakes closed by the Kentucky Association for the spring race meeting that is to open here Friday April 27 to continue ten days attracted a total of 220 entries according to the compilations made by Miss Louise Wil son the secretary and given to the press to ¬ day by manager Thomas C Bradley The Tobacco Stakes 3000 added for twoyear olds onehalf mile received 112 entries the property of sixty owners The Blue Grass Stakes 3000 added for threeyearolds one mile and an eighth has fortythree entries belonging to thirtytwo owners The Ash ¬ land Oaks 3000 added for threeyearold fillies one mile drew thirty entries the prop ¬ erty of twentyseven owners and the Cam den Handicap 3000 added for threeyear olds and over one mile and a quarter has thirtyfive nominations the property of twen ¬ tyeight owners ownersInasmuqh Inasmuqh as the Blue Grass Stakes is in the nature of a preliminary to the Kentucky Derby in so far as the hometrained that is to say prepared at Lexington horses are concerned this event carries greatest inter ¬ est Thirtynine of the eligibles for the Blue Grass Stakes are also eligible fcr the Ken ¬ tucky Derby The four that are not are I E Clarks chestnut filly Phenol a maiden after ten starts last year Mrs Henry Datt ners brown colt Henry Dattner a maiden onetime starter last year David T Mat lacks chestnut colt Guest of
