PLUNGING ON LORD GRANITE LOUISVILLE. Ky., April 8— One of the sensational colts in training at Churchill Downs is Lord Granite. From an opening price of 200 to 1 the son of Granite has been backed in the future books down to 40 to 1. His owner. J. H. Louchheim, has backed ins colt sufficiently t win a fortune, and his trainer is known to have one ticket on him calling for 5,000 against 50. This trainer is J. S. Ownbey, who has had to do with thoroughbreds for many years. He has Lord Granite in fine condition and if looks go for anything he has a great chance to get to the post and battle with the greatest three-year-olds in the country for one of Americas richest turf prizes.
