LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS Jim Arthurs apprentice A. Abel was the I saddle hero of last weeks racing. This J youngster rode eleven winners since the opening of the Bowie meeting, five in one day. Ha is now well up on the list of leading rid-| ers. Another youngster who met with signal success last week waa I. Tarke. He rode nine winners, but his name does not appear among the thirty leaders yet. K. Smallwood. F. Cantrell and T. Wilson also did well last week.
