TIJUANA CUP TO LIGHTER SAN DIEGO. Cal.. April 8. -Andrew Blakely carried off another rich prize at the Tijuana track when the four-year-old colt Lighter, which he trains for W. Daniel, won the Tijuana Cup at two miles before a capacity crowd at the Mexican course. Lighter is a product of August Belmonts famous Nursery Stud, being a son of Negofol — Luck Stuck, the latter a Bock Sand mare. Lighter had the best long-distance horses remaining in the W st as opponents in the Tijuana Cup today and showed great speed and stamina in finishing in front of Buekhorn II.. Old Faithful, Sunnyland, Louis. Prince Direct. John Paul Jones, Routn and Scotland Yet. The time for the race. 1:29%, was within one-lifth of the track record and in every way Lighters race was indeed a meritorious performance.
