Start poor and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. STORMALONG, off well, showed a good order of speed and, steadily improving his position when called on, wore BUZZ SAW down in the final sixteenth to win drawing clear. BUZZ SAW was much used in racing into a long early lead and tired. GOLDMARK raced fairly well throughout. BLACKOLIA finished gamely. GLADYS V. raced wide when coming into the stretch and finished in behind the leaders. LAGOON broke slowly and closed a big gap. ROYAL AIRMAN was crowded back shortly after the start. Won easily; second and third driving. KING OF THE SPA, racing to his true form today, raced into a long lead quickly and won in a canter. FLYING DEVIL ran well and, finishing gamely, outstayed PIETRUS. The latter was hard ridden all the way and close up at the end. IRISH PAT lacked early speed, but was racing well at the finish. MARGARET LAWRENCE raced next to the rail all the way and finished fast. ST. MARTINS showed early speed. BRICE ran poorly.
