BUYS CORCORAN CONTRACT LOUISVILLE. Ky.. May 18.— Harry Payne Whitney, through James Rowe, has purchased the contract on the clever young lightweight apprentice Johnny Corcoran. This little fellow was one of the riding sensations at New Orleans and several tempting offers were refused for his contract by Al Kirby, who developed him. While the price was not made public, it was intimated that Rowe paid 0,000 for the boy.
