The settlement was correctly made. C. W. P., Anderson. Ind. Rustics straight price in the Pimlico Futurity last Saturday was 3 to 1. Geo. M., Chicago, HI. Such a parlay as you specify would only pay to show under present customs. Louis P., Louisyille, Ky. Rachel D. was in the field in race 75301 and paid the fields price to show of 85 to 100. B. L. S., Chicago, HI. One who backs a jockeys mounts is backing the horse the jockey rides and no other horse counts. W. M. and others, Chicago, 111. Have no information concerning the total of money wagered on Zev in the mutuel3 last Saturday. Jbe S..; Chicago, 111. In race 75060 Satellite and Black Knight were coupled in the betting as the E. Barbara Palmers place tickets in the sixth race of November 2 at Wheeling paid instead of as erroneously sent and printed. C. A. B., Louisville, Ky. East or West In this country there is no rule prohibiting match races, but the governing powers are averse to them, except under extraordinary circumstances. Chas. P., Chicago, HI. There was" a show price against Audacious in his race at La-tonia of last Thursday. If in the mutuels show prices are quoted" on the placed horses, there also are show prices against all of the unplaced horses. John OL., Butte, Mont. The price paid at the- track on Fretwell is shown in the equivalent betting and governs elsewhere. The 9S0 to 100 is the price he would have paid had he won outright. The mutuel dividend in dead heats is determined by the number of tickets sold respectively on the dead heaters. C. L. C, Chicago, HI. Wagers made last Saturday on the Idle Hour Stock Farm entry, Cochran entry, Diogenes, etc., and specifying the third race at Pimlico were so obviously meant to be on the fourth race, the Pimlico Futurity, that there is no ground for any controversy on that point. Whether the layer is to give the intention greater weight than the actual performance of naming the third race is strictly resting on his own sense of what is right under the circumstances. D. W. H., New Orleans, La. Our correspondent at Latonia reported the track "fast" last Saturday. He is a man of great experience and his version of the matter stands. The three-quarters in 1:11 of Great Jaz, just prior to the big race, and the mile in 1 :40 of the moderate two-year-old King Gorin II. in the last race of the day corroborates the statement that the Latonia track was fast, even though it is possible it could have been a shade faster. As to Rockminster and Lucky Hours memorable race last year, it is quite probable they were then infinitely better than any of the three-year-olds of this year.
