INSURANCE AGAINST RAIN SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Nov. 6. The Pacific Coast Jockey Club has taken out an insurance policy against rain with the Hartford Insurance Company. The policy covers last Saturday November 3, also November 24, 29 and December 1. The club will receie 0,000 each day if it rains more than one-tenth of an inch between the hours of 10 a. m. and 2 p. m. On the other days the insurance averages about ,300 daily. Rain neAer prevents the running off of a program, but the Jockey Club is insuring against a loss of attendance. The Tanforan track has been especially built so that the races can be run in rainy weather. The steel-framed grandstand is also covered to protect spectators.
