HALLOWS RACING PLANS H. T. Waters to Be Reserved for Sprinting Horses of Stable Doing Well at Jamaica. NEW YORK, N. Y., Jan. 7. Abe Hallow has about decided that he will reserve his gcod three-year-old H. T. Waters for sprinting this year. On occasions last year this good son of Polymelian and Lady Winsome showed flashes of real class and he was looked upon as of possible Derby caliber. It may be that plans will change before the colt goes into active training, but at present it is intended to confine him to sprining. The Hallow horses are in comfortable quarters at Jamaica, where they are wintering well. William C. Clancy, the stable trainer, is visiting in California at this-ime, but will return in ample time to begin the work of educating the two-year-olds and fitting the older horses. Mr. Hallow said Friday that he had received a cable recently from Phil Chinn and that the Kentucky horseman and Coley Madden will both be back from England Tuesday. The most important yearling purchase made by Mr. Hallow at Saratoga last August was when he paid ,600 for a particularly good looking brown son of Light Brigade and Pleasant Puss, purchased from the consignment of Hancock and Threlkeld. He also paid ,700 for a chestnut colt by Omar Khayyam Chemulpo, consigned by A. B. Hancock, and 00 for a black daughter of Short Grass and Erla Lee.
