TURF RULING BODIES MEET Jockey Club and National Steeplechase and Hunt Association Hold Annual Sessions. NEW YORK. N. Y Jan. 12. The annual meetings of the Jockey Club and the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association were held Thursday afternoon. While a considerable amount of business was due to be considered at both meetings no an- ! nouneement was made of any developments following the sessions. It was understood that no changes in the rules of racing were to be discussed at the meeting of the Jockey Club. There has been some talk of amending the rule governing the compulation of foreign winnings to conform with the new rule of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association which ! makes the foreign exchange rate prevailing on the day cacli race was run the basis for figuring penalties. This matter, however, I was not discussed, according to reports of j the meeting. Because of the increased importance of steeplechasing, the meeting of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association attracted more interest than usual. This organization exercises practically the same control over the cross-country sport as the Jockey Club does over Hat racing. ! Another important meeting held Thursday was the annual session of the Saratoga As- 1 sociation. No announcement was made of j developments at that meeting either.
