KENTUCKY OFFERINGS Derby and Other Rich Fixtures to Close February 23. Latonia Derby Increased to 5, 00 Added Kentucky Handicap Changed to Grainger Memorial. Harbinger of the awakening of interest in, the racing campaign of 1924 is the an-; nouncement of the stake races of the Ken- tucky Jockey Club, to be decided in the course of its spring meetings at Churchill Downs and i.atonia. The only novelty pre- i sented is that the name of the valuable Ken- j tucky Handicap, in the Churchill Downs list, has been changed to the Grainger Me-; morial Handicap in appropriate respect to the memory of the late Charles F. Grainger, formerly president of the New Louisville Jockey Club. An addition in consonance witn the usual liberal policies of the Kentucky Jockey Club is an increase of the added money to the Latonia Derby from 5,000 to .the much greater sum of 525,000. Owners of promising three-year-olds will be a unit in applause of this admirable action. Entries will close at midnight of Saturday, February 23, and the rich offerings are: To Bo Run at Churchill Downs.
