NO RACING AT MOBILE Business Men of That City Decide Against Holding- Spring Meeting Plan for the Future. NEW ORLEANS, La., Feb. 1,3. There will be no racing at Mobile in the coming spring. This information Avas conveyed in a letter from secretary J. A. Robinson of the Mobile Business Mens Racing Association. Conditions in Mobile at present are not conducive for a successful .racing season and it was considered ill-advised to attemrit one. There was little regret expressed that there will be no meeting at Mobile. The racing there has been mediocre at best and has served no purpose. There is some talk of trying to get a mu-tuel bill passed during the coming convening of the legislature in special session and if favorable legislation can be secured a mile track is in contemplation. It will be built along modern lines with ample facilities to stable a number of horses. Good purses are also intended and a general bid for cooperation by the better class turfmen to bring some of their stars to again pat Mobile on the racing map. A .
