1 Twenty Years Ago Today Chief Turf Events of Feb. 14, 1904 Sunday, no racing. Frankie ONeill reached New York last Wednesday from St. Louis and at once reported to Fred Burlew at Gravesend. The young rider is under contract to ride the horses of Newton Bennington this season and will return to his duties in the saddle after a long rest. During the winter ONeill spent a considerable part of his time visiting in Wisconsin. In his long idleness the young jockey actually lost weight and, while he had trouble at times to do 103 pounds last summer, at this time he could easily make 101.
