The latter began slowly and was brought a bit wide when entering the stretch, but finished gamely. SOVEREIGN II. was a forward contender all the way. CRESTWOOD BOY encountered interference in the early racing when he was continually pocketed, but moved nip rapidly after entering the stretch and, taking the lend, drew away easily in the last eighth. CISQUA lost ground on the stretch turn, but easily passed HAPPY GO LUCKY in the last eighth. HAPPY BUXTON finished well. HAPPY GO LUCKY tired after going a half mile in the lead. JAP MUMA raced well and lasted long enough to withstand POLITHH rush. The latter was brought wide at the head of the stretch, but was wearing the leaders down at the end.
