MADDEN HORSES IN TRAINING LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 3. There is one trainer at th Downs that seldom lets the weather keep him from the main track. Snow, rain or shine "Chuck" Walker, who is conditioning John E. Maddens large string, can be seen with "sets" of the Madden horses on the Downs course nearly every day. Mr. Madden, it is said, has likely Derby candidates in Check and irolo Ground. The former is a brother to Chatterton and is bred on the same lines as Man o War, being by Fair Play from a Rock Sand mare. The latter is a maiden, but watchers say that the son of Omar Khayyam has a nice way of going. Gypsy King, another probable Derby candidate in the Madden stable, is also going along nicely. This colt is by Sir Martin from Elizabeth D. R. and won three races last season.
