LOUISIANA DERBY OF 1925 Will Have Added Value of 7,500 - Same Liberal Purses for Next Winters Meeting-. . NEW ORLEANS, La., March 17. "We will add 7,500 to the Louisiana Derby next year," said G. D. Bryan, Jr., during the afternoon, "and probably add an additional ,500 the following season." The great amount of interest shown in its running is responsible for Mr. Bryans announcement of additional endowment to the race. Entries to the Louisiana Derby next year will close in October, with a nominal entrance fee and a supplementary payment in February. It is aimed to attract some of the best two-year-olds in the country to enter in the race. While discussing the Derby Mr. Bryan also took occasion to remark that Jefferson Park would again open Thanksgiving Day and race until the first of the year and later follow with a spring meeting at the conclusion of the Fair Grounds season. Mr. Bryan also took occasion to announce that despite the disappointing season just finished, the purses for next year would be of the same liberal endowment as this year. It is also intended to reduce the admission charge. The tarriff will be a blanket one of .50 plus war tax for men and women. The present price of admission is .50 for men and .50 for ladies.
