DUNBOYNE NEVER UNSOUND P. A. Clark, Former Owner of Veteran, Refutes Report That Futurity Winner Is a Cripple. News dispatches to Daily Racing Form from the Bowie race track recently have touched upon the training progress of Dun-boyne, Belmont Park Futurity winner of 1918. These reports have characterized Dunboyne as a patched-up cripple and P. A. Clark, former owner of the horse, writes in refutation of these statements. Mr. Clark says that Dunboyne, except for occasional injury through striking himself by overreaching, has never taken a lame step. He calls attention to the strong proof of Dunboynes soundness which lies in the fact that he is the only high class two-year-old of 191S with the exception of Lion dOr which is still in training. Lion dOr was in the same stable as Dunboyne during his two-year-old season. Dunboyne has not been kept in training throughout any recent season for one reason or another and the impression has become rather general that he is an unsound horse. Daily Racing Form is glad to print Mr. Clarks refutation of this erroneous assumption.
