VAN PATRICK moved up fast while rounding the last turn and, passing VOORGOLB when an eighth out, stood a hard drive and barely managed to hold MARSDALE safe. The latter closed up with a rush and finished rapidly wearing the winner down. "VOORGOLD set the pace and shook VALOR oft when turning for home, but readily gave way to the tirst two when challenged. VALOR raced bead and head with VOORGOLD under slight restraint, but tired badly in the liual quarter. BLARNEY STONH and BORIUS were always far back. Scratched 77S3SElias O., 103. The latter was taken back while rounding the first turn and, coming fast through the final eighth, would have won with a stronger rider up. CONTUSION outstayed TOWNSENB, but was beaten off.
