PIMLICOS BIG OUTLAY To Distribute Imposing Sum of 23,200 During Meeting. Stake Races for Each Racing Day Order of Running of Stellar Attractions. BALTIMORE, Md., March 19. The Maryland Jockey Club will distribute the substantial sum of 23,200 in added money during the Pimlico spring meeting to be held from May 1 to May 13. Of that total 16,000 is added money in stake events. No purse will be less than ,300, with other overnight races having ,500 and ,000 added. In addition the Maryland Jockey Club will present 0 to the trainer of each winner of each race run during the meeting. The Preakness is the most valuable of the stake races, with an added value of 0,000, entries for which close Tuesday, April 8. As there are no entrance or other fees excepting the starting fee to this and other Pimlico fixtures to close on the same date, it is certain that a wonderful array of nominations will bo received for this big prize. As only entire colts and fillies are eligible for the Preakness, the unbeaten Sarazen, which is a gelding, will be missing from the entries, but all the other best two-year-olds of last year are sure to be named. The next biggest prize of the Pimlico spring meeting will be the 5,000 added Dixie Handicap, for which entries have already closed and weights been announced. The Pimlico Spring Handicap is another feature well worth winning, with ,500 added, as is the Jennings with ,000, while several ,000 added prizes are also on the program. TWO STAKES OX MAY 3. Dates for stakes for the Pimlico spring meeting have been skillfully arranged and provide a feature for each racing day from May 1 to 13, with the Dixie and the Green Spring Valley Steeplechase both scheduled for Saturday, May 3. The Preakness, as previously announced, is slated for Monday, May 12, giving ample time for the three-year-olds to take part in the three big spring events, the other two comprising the 5,000 Dixie at Pimlico and the 0,000 Kentucky Derby. The dates selected for the Pimlico fixtures are as follows: Thursday, May 1. Jennings Handicap, three-year-olds and upward, ,000 added, three-quarters mile. Friday, May 2. Pimlico Nursery, two-year-olds, foals of 1022, ,000 added, four aud a half furlongs. Saturday, May 3. Dixie Handicap, three-year-olds and upward, 0,000 added, one mile and three-sixteenths.
