Burch has fourteen horses in his charge six owned by Admiral Cary T. Graysons Salubria Stable ; six by Samuel Boss, and two by F. R. Hitchcock, a steward of the jockey club. The star of the lot which trainer Burch is preparing at Benning for the coming season of racing is My Own, the four-year-old son of King James and Bettie Landon, which threatened for a time last year to take the three-year-old championship away from Zev and In Memoriam. My Own. it will be recalled, trained off badly later in the fall and failed to perform up to expectations. MY OWX "WINTERS "WELL. The son of King James has wintered well and has been placed in active training at the local course. Trainer Burch is not rushing tho colt, however, and he has not been asked for speed as yet. It is possible that he will not be seen under colors until the New York meetings are under way. The other horses in the stable are going along slowly in their preparations for the coming season. Some of them should be ready to start during the early days of the season. Although Burch is in charge of the stable, W. II. Brooks is the nominal trainer of the horses. Samuel Ross has signed E.
