AN INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR 1 Ontario Jockey Club Makes Stanley Produce Stakes Open Event. Prince of Wales Among 117 Nominator From Canada American Entries Number 267. TORONTO, Ont, March i-0. When the Ontario Jockey Club directors decided with this years nominations to make the Stanley Produce Stakes an open event, they paved the way for an International race here in the fall of 1927. American breeders were quick to respond, and, of the magnificent nomination list of 384, headed by II. R. H. the Prince of Wales, the American breeders have made 267, and the Canadian breeders 117 nominations. The breeder of the winner will receive 00. It would cause no surprise if this race is worth 8,000 on the day of the big event, with at least 5,000 to the winner, and all for the paltry sum of 0 nomination fee. The conditions call for nomination fee when entries close, and additional fees on the first of January, 1925, 1926 and 1927, with 0 starting fee. The race at present, with 384 nominations, is worth 1,920. The weight conditions range from 101 pounds to 12C pounds. Here are the conditions and list of nominations for the Stanley Produce Stakes : Stanley Produce Stakes A sweepstakes, for three-year-olds, foals of 1924. By subscription of each, for mares covered in 1923, and each for the produce of such mares unless struck out by January 1, 1925 ; or of unless struck out by January 1, 192G ; or of unless struck out by January 1, 1927 ; starters to pay 0 additional. The Ontario Jockey Club to add 0,000 to the Stakes, of which ,500 to second horse, 00 to third and 50 to fourth. The breeder of the winner to receive 00. Weight, 11C pounds. Winners of a three-year-old race of the value of ,000 to carry three pounds extra ; of two such races or one of ,000, five pounds extra ; of three or more such races, or two of ,000, ten pounds extra. Non-winners of a race of the value of ,000, allowed five pounds; of ,000, allowed seven pounds. Maidens allowed fifteen pounds. No gelding allowance. One mile and a quarter. To be run during the year 1927, as the Ontario Jockey Club may direct, probably at the autumn meeting.
