BALTIMORE. Md.. April 2— For the second time in as many days racing was declared off at the Prince George County track today. This decision was reached following a conference between general manager James F. OHara and track superintendent Pending. The latter got into communication with OHara early this morning and Stated it would be impossible to clear the racing strip of the heavy fall of snow in time for the tirst race. Then the announcement was made. On the other hand, horsemen were nt any too anxious to race their charges over the treacherous course, and the postponement gave Satisfaction to all concerned. The weather today was vastly improve"! over that of yesterday and a continuation of milder type was predietcl. The sun melted the snow rapidly, and by tomorrow little trace of the blizzard will remain. The original program, which was carded for th » opening day, will stand. General manager James F. OHara wis in communication with the Maryland Racing Commission this morning, following an an- nouneement of the second postponement, and asked for a continuation of tic meeting. which will take in the vacant time 1 efore the opening at Havre de Grace. These two day-. Monday and Tuesday, will no doubt be allowed. There were a few hardy trainers who es-saved to send their charges over the anOW- covered course, but nothing in the form of a speed gallop was attemptel. A large force of men and snow-removing machines are engaged in clearing away the white mantle. Snow piled up on an average of six inches in depth, and in soma places much d-eper. The track tomorrow will be a deceptive one. The bottom will naturally be hard, but on top will be sloppy and coated with light mud.
