April 2— The Maryland Jockey Club is looking forward with a feeling | of sentiment to the revival at Iimlico of the Pixie Stakes, which was the first big feature of the inaugural meeting at the "Old Hilltop" in 1S70. when, under the name of the Dinner Stakes. Preakness, by Lexington, won the event in the colors of M. H. Sanford. The Dixie is a handicap for three-year-olds and over by subscription of 0 each, starters to pay 00 additional to the winner, with 5,000 added, of which ,000 to the second, ,000 to the third and ,000 to the fourth ; one mile and three-sixteenths. This stake closed January 2 with US entries and weights were allotted on February 1. i the name of every eligible horse of prominence in the country appearing on the list, j including Zev, In Memoriam and My Own. the three outstanding three-year-old colts i last year, with the unbeaten gelding. Sarazen. and his rival, the speedy filly Happy Thoughts also among the entries. The Dixie will be run on Saturday. May 3, and on the same afternoon the pick of the jumjers will compete in the Green Spring Valley Steeplechase at two miles, with 15.904 i added. Entries for this important crosscountry event will close April S. and every stable of note will send a representative to the post.
