SPEEDY FILLY RINKEY ♦ Gallops Three-Quarters in 1:143/5 at Churchill Downs. ♦ ■ Greentrees Derby and Oaks Candidate in Prime Condition — To Start in the Ashland Oaks. ♦ ■ LOUISVILLE, Ky.. April 11.— The Green-tree Stables Kentucky Derby and Oaks candidate Einkey worked three-quarters in 1:14% at Churchill Downs Friday morning, the fastest time at the distance recorded j j thus far by any Derby aspirant at either of the local tracks this year. The move was I i I most impressive and convinced trainer Clyde i Phillips that the fdly is in prime condition to race. The work was eminently praiseworthy. The track was not in first-rate condition, being somewhat slow from recent rains. Binkey is not what is regarded as a good work mare. Jockey F. Thorndyke was astride I the filly and, beginning from the five-eighths post, she ran the quarter in :24, the three-eighths in :o6, half in :48% and five-eighths in 1 :01%. The filly was allowed to go a]i:ig and race on her own courage for the first live-eighths, but in the final eighth Thorndyke took hold of her and, still eager to run, she finished out the three-quarters in 1 :14%. Binkey raced all winter at New Orleans and is in an advanced state of training. It is trainer 1hillips intention to ship her to Ix-xington to start in the Ashland Oaks, after which she will be returned to Churchill Downs to carry the colors in the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks. FOIl .MILE GALLOP TODAY. Wise Counsellor was given an easy gallop at three-quarters, which he turned in 1:17%, reeling off the quarter in :2t , half in! :52 and five-eighths in 1:05%. The big chest- j J ! nut will j -Tobubly be let down for a mile gallop Saturday morning. Clide and Sanola were sent out accompanied by Golvin, for a gallop at throe-quar- : ters, with Sanola in the lead all the way and j the other two close on her heels. j The watches timed Sanola the quarter in • j :24. three-eighths in :36, the half in :49 and three quarters in 1 :16%. The trio were eased up in the final quarter. Altawood was given an "opener" at three-eighths in :",$. in preparation for an ambitious gallop at a mile Saturday. .1. E. Maddens Kentucky Derby candidates, Iolo G round. heck and Gypsy King, were only given light works. Polo Ground had been sent a mile Thursday afternoon over a slow track in 1 AS and the latest gallop more than convinced owner Madden that he is possessed of a colt of real worth and one to be reckoned with in all of the three-year-old stakes of the year. The four-year-old Washington, a member of the .1. S. Ward Stable, showed up exceptionally well Friday morning when he ran three-quarters in 1:16. Donges and Dear Crass, also in the Ward Stable, also made a good impression when they went out together and worked the three-quarters in 1:16%.
