Prior to the races Saturday the horse Mi- chael J. Daly, the property of H. D. Byrd, was sold in the paddock at public auction and bid in for v350 by C. W. Chappell. W. H. Hall, owner of Sway, winner of the first race, claimed Mistress Mary out of the race from Harned Bros. and Jones for ,300 The meeting of directors of the Thoroughbred Morse Association that was to have been held here this afternoon was deferred until tomorrow at Lexington on account of failure of a quorum to be present at the appointed time. Black Gold, winner of the Kentuckv Derby and unbeaten this year, has been entered in the Ashland Derby to be run at the newest Kentucky track in July.
