BEN IRISHS DERBY HOPE Special Cablegram LONDON, England, May 24.— Ben Irishs Derby candidate, Dawson City, a bay colt by Spearmint — Clancare, won the Wilburton Handicap, a mile race, at Newmarket Thursday, so impressively that he is now conceded : a good chance in the Kpsom classic. Dawson City has been working with Papyrus and trainer Basil Jarvis thinks that the I colt has a good chance to take the big classic I in the Irish colors. Present indications are j that the field in the Derby will be large this i year. Bord Woolavingtons Tom Pinch has regained the position of future favorite for the race, Sansovino is second choice, while liright Knight, Diophon and Dawson City are next in line.
