WHEELING OPENING JUNE 4 Ten-Day Meeting Will Be Held at West Virginia Track — Dean to Preside at Barrier. WHEEBING, W. Va., May 24.— Secretary Bert Swartz of the Wheeling Driving Club has announced a ten-day running meeting to be held at the Fair Grounds beginning Wednesday, June 4. Seven races will be run off each afternoon, the post time for the first race being 2 :15. Edward A Pohlman of Cleveland, O, will again have charge of the pari-mutuel machines. Tentative arrangements have been made with the Pennsylvania railroad to operate a special service from Pittsburgh each day. While the complete corps of officials have not yet been announced, the starting will be done by Bester Dean, who for several years has been pre-siding at the barrier here and | other tri-state cities. Dean for a time officiated at Havana last winter during the absence of James Milton. — , • .
