T. Wilsons Forest Lore this afternoon won the Chateau Laurier Handicap, feature of the Saturday program at Con-naught Park. Rama finished second to the home-bred son of Campfire. Strut Miss Lizzie was third. Great Luck, Royal Visitor and Brilliant Jester completed the procession past the finish. Forest Lore brought about a double victory for Spencer Bullman and Jack Pryce, rider and trainer respectively of the Wilson colt, and Beau Nash, which won the previous contest for the account of W. J. Salmon. Forest Lores victory was only by a nose. Royal Visitor made the pace for him and for the others. Strut Miss Lizzie followed the Giddings representative most closely in the early running and moved into the lead in the stretch, when the son of Hearts of Oak I began to falter. Rama then moved outside | | of Strut Miss Lizzie, wearing her down be- j fore Forest Lore came with his winning rush J j on the outside. He got up in the closing strides. Beau Nash won from some shifty sprinters in the fourth, triumphing by a ncse over Cur-land. Mercury beat the others over the five j | and a half furlongs. Bullman steered the j I winner between the leaders in the stretch i j and kept him going just long enough to win. i J Curland was forced to take back at the | eighth post but came with a rush. The win- j ner carried the silks of W. J. Salmon. j Flowerful won the Canadian -bred race, j j Terry Wilson took the Seagram Stable colt ! to the front after turning into the back- j ! stretch and rode him out smoothly to win by i three parts of a length from El Jesmar. War j I | Tank beat three others over the mile and | seventy yards for third money. C. A. Coyles Demos, well rated by Pete Walls, won the final by three lengths. Brush I Boy finished second to him, after following i | Cavendish closely early. Attorney Muir beat j I the others. Winnipeg held up the start nine minutes in the third, but Morrissey sent them away well after that delay. Runaway opened up on the others, with Argumental in closest at- i tendance. When Runaway quit inside the I | . eighth pest Argumental fell heir to the lead i I and outlasted Arragosa by a neck. Polly | Lcighton beat the others. , i Sure to Win triumphed for the third con- j secutive time in the first race, completing a i j I double for this meeting. Pete Walls rode the ! i P. Gorman representative. He was in front j all the way after the start and won easily by | | two lengths. Clear View finished second and Tray more third. Roi Craig won the Maple Leaf Steeple-i chase Handicap. It was run over the short course. Ward and F. Sharpe came from Cleveland to report to G. E. Phillips. A. Ellis, an exercise boy in the employ of the E.F.Whitney stable, was injured slightly tliis morning when a green two-year-olds threw him. L. Angevine arrived from Montreal to allot stables for Blue Bonnets. He is confident that the impending meeting will be a good one. L. G. Bedwell left for Toronto Saturday jjight to see his father, EL G. Bedwell, planning to return here Monday.
