I TURF NEWS OF THE DAY I FROM BELMONT PARK NEW YORK, N. Y, June 11. Mrs. J. A. Coburn claimed Buck Pond out cf the fifth race from B. Maginnis for ,000. The Riviera Stable, quartered at Jamaica, has been visited by the epidemic of sickness which has infested that locality and the majority of the horses of that establishment have been placed temporarily out of training. F. L~ ahnken has been active in claiming horses this spring and has registered the nom de course of the Joaquina Stable. The two-year-olds in the stable of Mrs. W. M. Jeffords, which has been on the ailing list for some time, were exercised for the first time on Monday. Nineteen horses are on the schooling list at Belmont Park, according to a list published in the associations office. The Audley Farm Stables Princess Doreen and Miss Cerina will leave for Latcnia on Monday. W. R. Coes Ohone, which was shipped East with the Audley Farm Stable, may be returned to Kentucky. Both are eligible for the American Coaching Club Oaks. The Oak Ridge Stable has turned over the jumper Black Fox to R. H. Crawford to train in the future. Two claims were made following the first race. G. W. Loft lost Haf to George Pease for ,250, while W. J. Beth took Julie from Woods Stockton for ,500.
