J r , . ? J. TEMPLE GWATHMEY DEAD NEW YORK, N. Y., June 12.— J. Temple e Gwathmey, a prominent ligure of the Ameri-, can turf for many years, died Wednesday yr night after a long illess. Mr. Gwathmey f devoted most of his turf energies to steeple-chasing and some years back, in partnership p with Edward Weld, he raced under the name el of "Mr. Cotton." He later campaigned under r the name of the Canterbury Farm and has s also raced some of his horses under his own n name. A sportsman who was widely known n and admired, his death is a severe loss to 0 the turf.
