SCORCHER was knocked back when beginning the last turn and was taken to the outside, then came fast and, passing GYMKHANA in the final sixteenth, took the lead and won going away, GYMKHANA raced in the best going and passed CONTRACT in the stretch drive, but could not withstand the challenge of the winner. CONTRACT showed much speed, but tired badly after racing into a good lead. MENTHOL was next to the rail in the worst going and tired. BERNIt.E HARRAR lacked speed, but ran a game race.
