FINAL SALE AT SARATOGA 1,200 Realized for Thirty-Six Head Mare Oktibbena Brings Top Price of 5,000. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 27. i The final sale of the Saratoga season was held. Tuesday night under the auspices of the Fasig-Tipton Company, which included the. dispersal of the Huntington Valley Farm of Mcadowbropk, Penn., a consignment from the Himyar Stud, Dunroamin Farms and others. The offerings were made up of brood mares and yearlings. 5,000 which the Xalapa Farms paid for Oktibbena a chestnut mare by Rock Sand from Octoroon by Hastings proved to be the outstanding fig-! ure of the evening. "Willis Sharpe Kilmer and Edward F. Simms entered a lively bidding match for the possession of the mare and she was finally knocked down to Mr. Simms. The Rancocas Stable of Harry F. Sinclair was a liberal buyer and secured nine mares, which will bo added to the already large number now at the farm at Jobstown, New Jersey. Eugene Leigh also purchased several offerings. A total of 1,200 was realized for thirty-six head, an average of ,970. . Summary : Horse and Buyer. Price.
