ORNATE SILVER TROPHY Goes to Winner of Edgewater Beach Hotel Handicap, Saturdays Hawthorne Feature. HAWTHORNE RACE TRACK, Aug. 28. The ornate silver trophy, costing 00, donated by the Edgewater Beach Hotel for the ,500 added Edgewater Beach Hotel Handicap to be run next Saturday was placed on exhibition in back of the judges stand and was greatly admired. The Edge-water Beach Hotel management is planning elaborately for the occasion and in addition to their own coaches have pressed into service some other motor coaches to convey to the traek the 300 guests of the exclusive hostelery that have expressed a desire to witness the race and take part in the social festivities of the day. It will be known at the track as Edgewater Beach Hotel day and be the outstanding social occasion of the meeting. Already plans are under way to endow the race liberally for next year and increase it in value with each succeeding year. General Manager AVilliam M. Dewey of the Edgewater Beach Hotel will give personal supervision of his fashionable party.
