The second offering, a three-quarters sprint, for Canadian breds, brought out six cheap platers. Algonquin was installed the favorite and never left the result in doubt after leaving the half-mile ground, winning easily by six lengths from G. W. At the half Abel sent Algonquin to the front and he opened up a winning lead that he held to the finish. Bengore and Fair Lavana were well done turning into the stretch. It was here that G. Huntamer sent Salvo through on the rail and landed Salvo in second place. Caledon finished strong to be third. The third race on the card, a claiming contest for two-year-olds, was won by W. M. Royal Dick was third a length and a half in front of Meddling Seth, which set the pace to the stretch and quit Lady Argos, the second choice, was never prominent after tlie start. O.
