AURORA NEXT SCENE Sanola, Rockland Princess and The Runt to Race There. Hawthorne Being Rapidly Deserted Perkins and Others Ship to Latonia. HAWTHORNE RACE TRACK, Sept. 2. Today there was a general exodus of those who had raced here and it will continue for several more days until the track is again cleared of every trace that a race meeting had been in progress at the West Side course this year. A goodly number of operators who changed their place of activity from the east to Hay-thorne returned east to again resume thtlr business on New York courses. A canvass among the better known easterners who came here to take part in the fifty-two-day activities, shows that few are big winners. They report that the speculation on the whole was on a par with that in New York but the public was emminently successful in landing on winners. The easterners are also of the opinion that when the system here is better understood the activities will increase. Those owners who intend to race in Kentucky during the fall will send their charges as soon as available cars are to be had for their transportation. William Perkins sent twenty-five horses this afternoon to Latonia. Others that left today for the same point included the horses owned by Allie W. Young, Harned Brothers and Jones, J. N. Camden and the Cincinnati Stable. There were some scatering shipments during tho day for Aurora, where the twenty-five-day meeting inaugurates next Saturday. J. S. Owenby was among the departures. The real movement for the new mile track just constructed at Aurora will depart from Hawthorne tomorrow when fifteen cars will convey the horses owned by J. D. Hedder-man, J. M. Cooke, Mose Lowenstein, the Jones Stock Farm Stable, J. C. Ferris and C. II. Knebelkamp. Some good horses are in these consignments including Rockland Princess, Sanola, The Runt, and others, that were consistent winners at Hawthorne. According to general-manager Charles Ford of the Aurora track, the new course has been completed and open to owners to exercise their horses tomorrow. Among the layers who intend to operate at Aurora are Frank Shannon and most of those who quoted odds at Hawthorne. "Gene" Austin has been engaged to make prices. At present indications are that there will be at least 400 horses available for the Aurora racing.
